Yamawa-boshi is a collaborative label created by two sake breweries from Miyagi Prefecture: Yamawa Shuzoten and Niizawa Brewery.
First brewed in 2019 as a commemorative sake for the 200th anniversary of Fujisaki, a long-established department store in Miyagi, it has since been produced every year as a special New Year’s first-sale sake, marking the arrival of spring.
The two breweries take turns brewing the sake each year, and in this 8th year, the brewing has been handled by Yamawa Shuzoten.
It offers a refreshing aroma and a light, clean, and transparent mouthfeel. Lively flavors are complemented by gentle sweetness and pleasant acidity, with a finish that disappears swiftly and cleanly.
