Launched in 2001 under the initiative of current managing director Kensuke Shichida, the unfiltered genshu series was born from his desire to “do business where we can see the faces of our customers.” This special contract-store exclusive sake is Shichida.
Created with the intent to let people experience the true flavor of sake, it undergoes no filtration whatsoever and no dilution, resulting in an alcohol content of 18%. It has volume and a bold, rich attack, yet maintains an overall sharp and crisp character. This Junmai pairs exceptionally well with today’s increasingly rich and fatty cuisine.
It was prominently featured in the March 2009 issue of Danchu magazine, where it won the Three-Star Cost Performance Award. This Junmai sake rivals the popularity of Shichida’s Junmai Ginjo.
