Kodama Brewery was founded in 1879 (Meiji 12), beginning with its founder Kumenosuke Kodama producing soy sauce and miso.
In 1913 (Taisho 2), the brewery expanded into sake production. For generations, Kodama Brewery has carried on the craft of using the power of microorganisms to transform ingredients such as rice, soybeans, and wheat into aromatic, umami-rich sake and foods.
